About

In 2008, a small group of St. Peter’s missioners went on an exploratory trip to the Dominican Republic with the purpose of finding an Episcopal parish that needs assistance. The group found a parish, Santa Maria Virgen, in Montellano that wanted to build an affiliated religious school for grades 1-6. The picture of those missioners standing in a vacant field with stray goats roaming about is a stark contrast to the vibrant 2-story schoolhouse that sits in the field now. During St. Peter’s six previous mission trips to the DR, we have provided the vast majority of the funding, and much of the labor that has gone into the construction and furnishing of that school (Escuela Niño Jesus).

This year, St. Peters will be working again at Niño Jesus and the two churches and running Vacation Bible School.
